Executive Summary about list of baby names by Janet Kimbrell
Our unique list of baby names includes some names you have never heard before.
Celebrities have cornered the market on coming up with unusual names that test the limits of pronunciation and spelling. The names of their baby twins, Vivienne and Knox, are more common, but they still don’t show up on a list of popular names!
Gwyneth Paltrow named her children Apple and Moses. Moses is, obviously, a Biblical name – but what about Apple? Gwen Stefani took the unusual route as well, when she named her children Kingston and Zuma. There are plenty of others that make for unusual names. When you are seeking a unique list of baby names, think in terms of places and things. Have you heard of children being named after planets? Our list of baby names includes actions, too. Runner is a name that might appeal to athletic families. Dancer has been assigned to a child now and then, as has the name Ballet.
Naming a child Tuesday has been a popular option in unique names. Calling a child April or May is a pretty common practice, but what about calling him December, or naming your baby girl February?
A somewhat popular trend is in spelling names backwards, which presents you with unique spellings. A list of baby names is sure to turn up something that will suit your creative side, as well as reflect well on your precious child.
Choosing the Best Baby Names
Executive Summary about list of baby names by Lily Morgan
The one gift that parents give a child that lasts forever is the baby’s name. No matter what happens, a baby’s name will stay with him or her through growing, childhood, adulthood and beyond. Picking a baby name isn’t easy though, and it’s a task that takes a lot of thought and consideration. Here are some tips to choose the best name for your baby:
Make a list of all the baby names you and your partner like. Write down any name that catches your eye or that pleases you. If there are names that come to mind over time, add them to your list.
Look at all types of names. There are popular name choices, celebrity names, those from history, names that reflect a culture or a people, names based on nature or religion… If you find that you prefer Scottish names, delve deeper for choices. If you like natural-sound names like River or Rain, feel free to explore those selections.
Speak the names aloud and see how they sound and feel on your tongue, match them up with the baby’s last name, and try to find the variations or nicknames your child might end up with.
Your baby’s name choice isn’t the time to make a statement, either. Paired with the last name, they sound like a phrase that may be distasteful or curious. A nickname paired with a last name could spell trouble too. People love to be included in the name search, and they’ll be more than willing to help in the choice. Keep in mind that you have the final choice in your baby’s name.
